Individual therapy
Time and space that are just for you.
One-to-one sessions with a licensed therapist you have chosen. For anxiety, low mood, stress, relationships, loss, or simply understanding yourself better.
What it is
Individual therapy is a regular, confidential conversation with a trained professional. It is the one place where you do not have to manage anyone else’s reactions, be polite or have it together.
Your therapist helps you notice patterns, understand where they come from, and try different ways of responding. Some people come for a handful of sessions around a specific problem. Others stay longer. Both are fine.

Questions about therapists and sessions
Who are the therapists?
Every therapist on mymind is a licensed or registered mental health professional, such as a psychologist, psychotherapist or counsellor, with a recognised qualification and supervised clinical experience. We check identity, qualifications, registration and insurance before anyone joins. Read more about how we vet therapists.
Do I get to choose my therapist?
Yes. This is the main thing we do differently. After the matching questions you see a short list of therapists with their background, approach, languages and availability. You pick who you would like to meet and start with a free 15-minute intro call.
What if it does not feel right?
Then you switch. Fit matters more than anything else in therapy, and no good therapist takes it personally. You can change therapist at any time, at no cost, without having to explain why.
Can my therapist diagnose me or prescribe medication?
Therapists on mymind provide talking therapy. They do not prescribe medication. Whether a therapist can give a formal diagnosis depends on their profession and the rules where they are registered. If medication might help, your therapist will encourage you to speak to a doctor or psychiatrist.
How do sessions work?
You choose how to talk: video, phone or live chat. A standard session is 50 minutes. You join from your phone or computer through a private link, with nothing to install.
