Accessibility
Looking after your mental health should not depend on how well you see, hear, move or read. We want this website to work for everyone, and we treat barriers as bugs.
Adjust the site to suit you
Open the accessibility settings with the person icon at the top of every page.
- Text size: standard, large or larger. The layout adapts, and browser zoom works up to 400%.
- High contrast: darker text, stronger borders and underlined links.
- Easier reading: a plain typeface with more space between letters, words and lines.
- Reduce motion: stops animations. The site also follows the reduced-motion setting of your device.
Your choices are saved in your browser only, so they are still there on your next visit.
What we have built in
- Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels for screen readers. Menus, the search and the questionnaires announce their state.
- Text and controls are designed to meet contrast requirements, and information is never given by colour alone.
- Forms name every field, explain errors in words and never time out.
- No content flashes, and nothing plays sound.
- Therapy sessions are by video. You can keep your camera off, and you can message your therapist in writing about practical matters.
Where we stand
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has been tested by us with a keyboard and automated checks. It has not yet had an independent audit or testing with users of assistive technology, so there may be problems we have missed.
Tell us what does not work
If something on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, write to [email protected] and tell us the page and what happened. We will reply within five working days and fix what we can.
If you need information from this site in a different format, ask and we will provide it.
