Therapy approaches
Interpersonal therapy (IPT) online
Interpersonal therapy is built on the observation that mood and relationships affect each other. When we are low we withdraw, and when relationships are strained our mood drops.
How it works
IPT is time-limited and focused. Together you pick one or two areas, such as a conflict, a loss, a role change or isolation, and work on them directly.
Who it suits
People whose low mood is tied to relationships, loss or a major change in role.
What sessions look like
- A map of the important people in your life
- A clear focus area agreed early on
- Practising difficult conversations
- Usually twelve to sixteen sessions
